Compact Electrochemical Multiplexer for Multi-Cell Testing (Up to 72 Cells)

Compact Electrochemical Multiplexer for Multi-Cell Testing (Up to 72 Cells)

Description:

Multiply your electrochemical research capacity without multiplying your instruments.

This compact electrochemical multiplexer allows you to connect and test up to 72 electrochemical cells using a single measuring instrument, dramatically reducing laboratory footprint, cost, and system complexity compared to multi-potentiostat setups.

Designed for high-precision electrochemical measurements, the multiplexer enables users to program and run identical or customised methods across multiple cells, while maintaining controlled potentials and performing sequential current measurements with excellent accuracy.

The system supports ZRA (Zero Resistance Ammeter) mode, ensuring a maintained 0 V potential during measurements and offering automatic recovery after power or current interruptions, making it particularly suitable for long-term corrosion and galvanic studies.

Note: This multiplexer operates in conjunction with an OrigaFlex potentiostat system and is controlled via Ethernet through a driver (OGFDRV) channel.

Key Features & Benefits:

  • Test up to 72 cells using one measuring instrument
  • Space-efficient design — up to 70% less space than multi-potentiostat systems
  • ZRA mode with automatic recovery after power outages
  • Maintain stable potentials across 2, 3, or 4-electrode configurations
  • Wide current range from pA to 10 A (depending on connected potentiostat)
  • Modular and scalable via Ethernet-based cascading
  • Relay-based switching for reliable, low-leakage measurements

Applications:

  • Corrosion monitoring
  • Corrosion inhibitor testing
  • Galvanic corrosion studies
  • Surface treatment processes
  • Fuel cells
  • Microbial fuel cells
  • Electrolysers

System Compatibility & Software

To operate, the multiplexer must be connected to an OrigaFlex measurement channel / potentiostat.

The OrigaFlex range is a modular, compact multi-potentiostat platform that allows users to:

  • Start with a single channel
  • Expand the system without practical limits via Ethernet
  • Control the system through:
    • OrigaMaster 5 (USB)
    • OrigaViewer (Ethernet, simultaneous multi-channel control)

Each channel can be controlled individually via USB and simultaneously via Ethernet for high-throughput experiments.

Example Research Project:
